Singing Folk songs has been a passion of mine for many years now. Sadly like so many artists due to the pandemic, we don't know when we will be able to perform live again. Elaine & I recorded my 3rd album, Standing By The Shore in 2018 with local musician Stewart Shearer. I t debuts some of our own songs. It seemed only right to include it here amidst my new venture, Inspired By Orkney because I have always said how Orkney has inspired me in my life & music. I hope you enjoy being transported to Orkney through our songs & music.

BIOGRAPHY: With her crystal clear, soulfully expressive vocal, Jo Philby is one of the most endearing folk singers to emerge from Orkney in recent years. Having met widespread acclaim in 2009, her debut CD Saltwater and Stone was very much a labour of love, a long time in the making. Now, having found and developed her niche, she released her 2nd album 'Beneath the Starry Sky' in 2012 showcasing how Jo has developed her own style through song. Elaine Grieve accompanies Jo in her own sensitive style on mandola & rhythmic guitar with haunting harmonies.
